BIRDCAP x BOLD GOLF
Chaos on the Course.
For this collaboration, we handed the keys to the cart over to Tennessee-based muralist and illustrator Birdcap — and let him drive straight through the fairway into his own chaotic world. Known internationally for his vibrant murals and surreal characters, Birdcap brought his unmistakable visual language to BOLD GOLF., twisting the traditional imagery of the sport into something far more unexpected.
At the centre of the project is a 1-of-1 hand-painted golf bag, built on our signature Sunday Bag silhouette. It’s been completely transformed into a walking canvas, densely illustrated with Birdcap’s cast of original characters. Each figure was created as a kind of warped course-side spectator — lively, loud, and likely to cause trouble. “If my characters showed up at a golf course,” he told us, “there’d be immediate chaos.” That spirit runs through the entire piece.
The apparel side of the collaboration includes heavyweight cotton hoodies featuring one of Birdcap’s wildest illustrations: a wide-eyed, technicolor tiger being ridden by a levitating egg, haloed by the word BOLD. It’s surreal, unbothered by logic, and meant to spark joy — exactly how we like it.
We’ve also released a limited edition fine art print of the hero graphic, produced in collaboration with the renowned Copper House Gallery in Dublin. Printed on museum-grade archival stock and in strictly limited numbers, it brings the work into the art world proper — a piece of the project you can frame.
It’s a body of work that’s rich in detail, strange in the best way, and packed with personality — but more than that, it’s a truly human collaboration. When we first spoke to Birdcap about painting a golf bag, he laughed and admitted he wasn’t sure he could keep his lines straight. It was a challenge he hadn’t taken on before. But as with everything he does, he met it with heart, imagination, and serious craft.
We’re massively grateful to him for jumping in with us on this. This project is a reflection of everything we want BOLD GOLF to be — irreverent, creative, and full of character. We hope you enjoy it as much as we’ve enjoyed bringing it to life.
